Cluttering Your Mailbox

or

Slowing Down Your Mail Sorting Process?

New for 2006 - See link below to stop Telemarketing phone calls to your home.

Tips, which will help, reduce the amount of unsolicited catalogs, ads, sales flyers, coupons, credit card applications, etc.?

Selective removal – Write companies you do business with and request that your information not be shared with other marketers.

Response cards – These cards often contain a box to check whether or not you prefer to have your name/address shared with other companies; be sure to check “NO”.

Duplicate mailings – Contact companies and notify them of duplicate mailings; be sure to provide them with the exact name and address information, and any key code numbers that may be in the address area.

Ads, Catalogs, Flyers:

Local – Contact local companies directly to request your name be removed from their mailing list.

National – Register your name with the Direct Marketing Association and request to add your name to the “name removal list” which is shared with participating companies.

Please note, while these tips will reduce the amount of advertising mail you receive, this will not totally eliminate it. Also, many direct mailings are planned months in advance, so it may take awhile before you notice a reduction. You may need to repeat these steps every year or two, or whenever you notice an increase in the amount of mailings you receive.

Writing the companies above should greatly reduce the amount of unsolicited mail.

HINTS: A few more ways to reduce your unwanted incoming mail:

  1. Mandate your employees to have ALL their personal and/or non-business related mail sent to their homes.
  2. Mandate your employees to have certain Business Subscriptions sent to their homes, they may find more time to read them there than at work.
  3. Mandate that your employees send Change of Address cards to mailers after they have left your company. This can usually be done on-line or by phone, now-a-days. ( No Change of Address can be done on a business ), It must be stopped on a personal basis. Contact the mailer, not the Postal Service.
  4. Make a list of employees who no longer need certain Ad-mail and email those companies to take their names off the mailing list.
  5. Rip off the front covers/including the address portion of items you don't want coming to the office and mail them back to the publisher asking for them to be taken off the mailing list.
  6. Some companies include a BRM (Business Reply Mail) envelope within their mailings. HINT: Take the address portion of the piece you received, mark on it that they should take that person off the mailing list and mail it back to them using their postage paid BRM.

Remember: This is not an overnight solution. It will take time and effort but we guarantee you that you will reduce your sorting time and labor costs as you move forward. Even when you notify the subscription publishers, we have been informed that it may take two or three mailings before the stop takes place.

Thanks,

Not all “JUNK Mail” is Bad mail

I'm sure your company is trying their best to send out
