MQC, The First Step to Mail Center Education

Presented by the United States Postal Service, MQC, Mailpiece Quality Control, is one of the finest mail center training programs available.  MQC will increase the knowledge of your mail center employees, adding money-saving value to your organization.

MQC opens the door to a platform of knowledge that will be invaluable to your organization. It is a step - no - it is a leap towards understanding your database hygiene, design issues, rules and regulations and postal discount programs.

In my opinion, MQC is one of the best self study guide programs available in today's mailing and shipping industry for the beginner and a great refresher course for the veteran.

The Postal Service has put together a training guide that hits most any case scenario that will be found in your mail center. It covers everything from Expedited Services to Periodicals including where to find support within the Postal Service.

The training guide is a open book self-study program. It is 280 pages of great postal knowledge. After each module there is a short test, and an answer page next to the questions. When you complete the workbook study guide you send away for the final OPEN BOOK test at a nominal cost of only $25.00. (Let me know if you find a study guide that gives you this kind of knowledge for the same or less cost).

Once you've received your final test of 100 questions, you will complete it and return it to the Postal Service for grading, based on your timeline. You need at least 90% to pass. (If while you study your book and you've highlighted the answers to the questions within each module, there will be no problem passing the test.) The Postal Service will inform you of your grade shortly after sending it back to them.

When you pass the exam they will send you a certificate, which you should proudly display in your Mail Center, after you have shown it to your manager and asked for a raise. Hint, hint.

You will also receive a very nice MQC pin for you to display on your person and your name will become part of an archived list of Proud Mailpiece Quality Control Specialists posted on the Internet. (You have the opportunity to retest every two years to stay certified).
