t i p s DIMM Domestic & International Mail Manuals
I'm here to preach to you that the industry as a whole, Mail Center Managers, Postal Employees and Managers, The United States Postal Service's Board of Governors, Foreign Countries and a assortment of other minds have all participated and contributed in the structuring of what we now call the Domestic and International Mail Manuals.
Why did these books become so large and articulated? They have to be. The architecture of these books came to be because of the enormity and compellability of the operation of sending and receiving of written communications and packaged products. They were written to make it fair for everyone.
Don't be afraid of the "DIMM".
The DIMM's are The Mail Center Managers "Good Books"
In biblical times didn't someone once say:
"So let it Be Written, So let it Be Done"
A lot has been written and a lot has been done about mail and packages. Mailers and Shippers should always research the DIMM. Make sure you understand your part of it.
As large as the Domestic Mail Manual may be, Remember the DIMM is only as large as the part you need. Don't get confused over the size of the book, because your part is probably only a few pages long. I also think the Postal Service has come a long way in making it a more friendly "challenge" guide book. (little friendly USPS humor here)
Another thing to remember is that you are not alone. The Postal Preacher is here for you. You can always send your question or concern to me and I will help guide you to the truth and light within the DIMM.
Your Bulk Mail Acceptance Clerk is also there for you. He or She will help you. They want you to succeed. They want you to have things prepared correctly the First Time and will assist helping you understand the Rules and Regulations of the DIMM. They have even been known to give an exception to the rules once-in-a-while, if you politely ask for it.
Ignorance is not above the Law. Ignorance will create problems for you at the time of mailing or shipping of your product.
Don't procrastinate.
Dig into the DIMM and learn, then share your knowledge with others within your Mail Centers. Congratulations, As concerned Mail Center & Shipping Managers we all have to be a little: "DIMM WITTED" Amen! Click on the Links below: DMM (Domestic Mail Manual) IMM (International Mail Manual) |
